Greetings, As Ronald Regan would have said, "Here we go again..." ...uncertainty, nervousness, political argument, geopolitical tensions, trade wars, tariffs, and so on.
Hello everyone, and happy fall! As the temperatures drop, so do interest rates. Last week, the Federal Reserve announced a 0.50% (50 bps) cut to its benchmark rate. With this important decision, we wanted to take a moment to explain what it means and why it matters to you.
Hi there, Welcome to our summer edition of the Highwater Wealth Quarterly Newsletter! We hope you're enjoying the warmer weather and taking some time to relax and recharge. As we dive into the heart of summer, let’s take a moment to catch up on what’s been happening in our world.
Happy 2024!!! Some years it just feels better to begin again with a clean slate. It's finally snowing in the Northeast, and I love snowy winter days. I hope you are having a good start to 2024 whether you are in a cold climate or down in the warm, sunny south. We got through 2023 without a recession (impressive) and, yes, I still believe we are on our way to a recession, but it continues to appear that it will be a mild one.
Hi there! So, here we are, October. The last quarter of 2023. The weather is FINALLY nice for those of us in the northeast. And what has changed in the markets and the economy??? A whole lot of nothing.
Hello All, I hope everyone is enjoying a nice July and for those of us in the northeast, I hope that new lake in your yard dries up soon. There is no big news to share but as the happy train that is the recent stock market keeps rolling along, I thought I’d just chime in for a few quick thoughts.
Could this be the beginning of the long awaited slowdown?

Hello Folks, There are few things in life as difficult as patience and waiting. For months now we have been discussing the 'most well telegraphed recession' in history, yet we haven't seen it in the numbers.
Well, now that we've wrapped up another year, we hope your holidays were healthy and happy and wish you nothing but the best for 2023. How did 2022 turn out?
Hello All, Perhaps I should begin this letter on a positive note (and call it two steps forward, one step back, like a good marriage). Susie and I are about to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and we just returned from a wonderful anniversary trip-taken in September for weather reasons. We have been married more than half of our lives and happy to be that way.
Although I believe most of you are not panicking, not worrying and not standing on the window ledge this time around, I'd like to share some of my recent thoughts on the markets, economy and what's going on. (I have also made a bet with Anka that I can keep this to three paragraphs.)
